Another 26 Innovative Projects to Change the World

Author: Gustavo F-Mazarambroz, Director of Mapfre Foundation Awards.

Looking to strengthen social projects at an intercontinental level, we find avant-garde initiatives in Health, Mobility and Insurance. 26 more projects will join Red Innova and develop their social activity, together with Fundación MAPFRE and IE University, from northern Mexico to Patagonia and from Quito to Eastern Europe.

The Third Edition of the Fundación MAPFRE Social Innovation Awards, boosted by IE, was launched last September and 26 initiatives have been chosen to move to the semifinals because of their innovative nature, their viability and their ability to excite. They all have something very important in common: they pursue the well-being of our society and the sustainability of our environment.

These 26 projects come from 7 countries in Europe and America: Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain and the United Kingdom. They will compete in each of the three semi-finals that will take place in Madrid on March 24, in Mexico City on March 26 and in São Paulo on April 2. Only nine of their projects will go to the grand finale. Meet the finalists. Follow the competition.

The high number of proposals received and the social sensitivity of its promoters encourage us to continue on the exciting path of social innovation. We are proud to participate in an already unstoppable process: the transformation of our society prioritizing the care of people and the environment.
