Launch of the IE Alumni SSI Club: The Journey Starts

Written by: Marta Calix, President of SSI Club. Last week, on the 15th of January, the first online Webinar of the new IE Alumni Sustainability and Social Innovation Club took place. This new global community of IE Alumni wants to catalyse action on the ground to help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also promoting a platform to network and exchange information between Alumni. At the webinar, the plan of activities for 2020 was presented, which includes several online webinars on different topics, from impact investment to green building and green energy, as well as some physical events like a multi-location beach clean-up event which will take place in July.

At the Webinar, Concepción Galdon, IE’s Social Innovation Director and Academic Lead also presented the wider work of IE when it comes to sustainability and social innovation, providing an important context to the activities of the SSI Club and how they add to ongoing efforts. This Webinar provided a first opportunity for Club members to come together and was the starting point of a packed year of activities.
