FULL SCHOLARSHIP @IE FOR A REFUGEE

Author: Gustavo F-Mazarambroz, Director of Mapfre Foundation Awards.

A refugee will get a full scholarship on a High Impact Online Program at IE thanks to  our students’ engagement.

Several IE Clubs were invited to participate in IE’s Social Innovation Challenge, a competition among IE Clubs to sponsor a scholarship with their activities. Clubs could accumulate points, accrued by boosting their engagement with their own foundational objectives. The first one to reach a predetermined threshold unblocked the scholarship.

IE Social Innovation, in collaboration IE’s Foundation, IE Campus Life and IE’s Exponential Learning invited the clubs on November 2018 to take this pledge.

IE’s Net Impact Club was the first club to reach the threshold and won the challenge on the 24th June 2019. We are now collaborating with CEAR (Comisión de Ayuda al Refugiado), in the selection process of the beneficiary of the scholarship.

High Impact Online Programs are five-week long fully online programs on different topics that are flexible and practical. These programs include a variety of learning experiences including live sessions with professors (some of them through the WOW Room).
