29 Apr Why Designers Should Be Rebels
Written by Laura McDermott, Design Lead at Social Innovation Center@IE
Disruption across industries, increasing market competition, consumers’ rising expectations: these factors threaten most — if not all — brands in the market. For many experts, Human Centred Design (HCD) would be an effective way to create differentiated and value-added solutions.
“Why Designers Should Be Rebels” is an article that was recently published in The Beam magazine by two members of the IE community. Both Laura McDermott and Nadim Choucair studied at IE University and have a keen interest in design, innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The article looks at the focus of designers around human needs, and how this scope should be expanded to consider sustainability as one of the core elements of design.
